Differences between lithium iron phosphate battery and lithium battery

Lithium iron phosphate battery refers to the lithium ion battery with lithium iron phosphate as the cathode material. Lithium battery is a battery using lithium metal or lithium alloy as cathode material and non-aqueous electrolyte.

Advantages of lithium iron phosphate battery

Disadvantages of lithium iron phosphate battery

1. The real density of positive electrode of lithium iron phosphate battery is small, and the density is generally about 0.8-1.3.

2. The conductivity is poor, the lithium ion diffusion speed is slow, and the actual specific capacity is low when charging and discharging at high times.

3. Low temperature performance of lithium iron phosphate battery is poor.

4. A single lithium iron phosphate battery has a long life of about 2000 times, while a lithium iron phosphate battery pack has a short life of about 500 times.

Advantages of lithium battery

1. The energy is relatively high, and the storage energy density is high, up to 460-600Wh/kg, 6-7 times that of lead-acid batteries.

2. The power carrying capacity is high. The lithium iron phosphate battery for electric vehicles can reach 15-30C charging and discharging capacity, which is convenient for high-intensity startup and acceleration.

3. It is light in weight, about 1/6-1/5 of the weight of lead acid products under the same volume.

4. It has strong adaptability to high and low temperatures, and can be used in the environment of - 20-60 ℃. After technical treatment, it can be used at - 45 ℃.

5. Green and environment-friendly, no matter in production, use or scrap, it does not contain any toxic and harmful heavy metal elements and substances such as lead, mercury, cadmium, etc.


Disadvantages of lithium battery

1. Lithium batteries cannot be discharged with large current, are expensive and have poor safety.

2. All lithium batteries need to protect the circuit from overcharge and overdischarge.

3. High production requirements and high cost.

4. Limited use conditions, high and low temperature use is dangerous.
